A 1980′s Rock Band caused a media frenzy in 2004, when they made an unknown comeback under the guise of an “up and coming young punk band”. In the true to form style of an image obsessed, ageist industry, a young ‘faux band’ was signed and entered the U.K. Charts with their first single release. Unfortunately as the media frenzy around the new group broke so did the need to explain the truth.

Vinyl was filmed at various locations in North Wales during August 2010, and is now in post production.

Arts Council of Wales – Reach The Heights Programme

Diverse Arts were contracted to deliver 4 training courses under the First Footholds strand of Reach The Heights. Working with young people who were either unemployed or not in education, our team provided support to enable the participants to produce their own music, music promo’s, comedy shorts, and also a short fly on the wall documentary.

Rhyl City Strategy – FUBU – For us By us Project

Funded through Rhyl City Strategy’s deprived area funding via DWP, this project allowed members of our film unit to deliver a structured programme of training to local young people, who wanted to make their own short films. The training provided work experience, self esteem and confidence building, which in turn inspired 80% of the participants to find employment by the end of the course.

Photographs of the project were taken by Nick Alayo, who is a young photographer Diverse Arts love to work with.
